Annual Governor’s Conference: AI in Education

The Keys Academy Trust governors, trustees and school leaders came together on Tuesday 7 October 2025 for our third TKAT Governor Conference, exploring one of the most exciting and fast-moving topics in education today Artificial Intelligence (AI). The evening was themed around “AI in Education: What Every Primary School Governor Needs to Know,” which was led by Andrew Dax, Director of Digital Learning at Wellington College. Andrew delivered a thought-provoking and highly interactive session, encouraging governors and school leaders to not only think about the opportunities and challenges of AI, but to get hands-on and experience how it can already support governance and leadership in schools. The conference reflected TKAT’s core values of Innovation and Love of Learning inspiring governors and school leaders to approach new technologies with curiosity and confidence.

The Keys Steps Up for the Active Wellbeing Challenge

This September, The Keys Academy Trust (TKAT) staff took on the Active Wellbeing Autumn European Adventure Challenge 2025, a national initiative that saw public sector workers challenged to “run, walk, cycle and swim across Europe” in just two weeks. We are delighted to share that 10 TKAT teams entered, bringing together 81 staff members from across several of our schools and our Central Team. Collectively, our teams walked a staggering 10,115km – the equivalent of walking from London to Beijing! A huge congratulations goes to Team Polehampton, who were crowned TKAT Champions after clocking up an impressive 1,633km.

Celebrating 5 Years of Partnership

This September, The Keys Academy Trust is proud to celebrate a special milestone: the 5th anniversaries of both Alder Grove C of E Primary School and Polehampton C of E Infant and Junior Schools joining our Trust. A 5th anniversary is traditionally represented by wood, a symbol of strength, growth, and lasting connection. To mark the occasion, The Keys has gifted each school a eucalyptus tree. The eucalyptus is a fitting emblem of resilience, renewal, and protection – qualities that both Alder Grove and Polehampton have demonstrated in their journeys so far.

Grazeley Celebrates Ofsted Outcome

The Keys Academy Trust is proud to announce that Grazeley Church of England Primary School has been rated Good in all areas following its most recent Ofsted inspection on 24 and 25 June 2025. This marks a significant achievement for the school. Inspectors praised Grazeley as “a warm and welcoming community” where pupils are thriving in a nurturing and ambitious environment. The report commended the school for fulfilling its vision of being “a loving community of courageous learners, building resilience and hope for the future”.

Sonning is Outstanding

The Keys Academy Trust is delighted to announce that following its recent Ofsted inspection on 8th & 9th July 2025 Sonning Church of England Primary School has been judged Outstanding in every category. Inspectors praised the school as “a highly ambitious and nurturing school” where pupils “excel” and achieve “extremely well across the curriculum.” The report highlights Sonning’s exceptional standards in the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and early years provision. Inspectors found that pupils “embody the values of love, courage, respect, aspiration and curiosity” and described Sonning as “a joyful place” where children behave with “habitual kindness” and show remarkable maturity. The curriculum was singled out for its ambition, rich opportunities for reading and debate, and inclusive approach that ensures pupils with special educational needs also thrive.

Awesome Books and Inspiring a Love of Reading

At The Keys Academy Trust, we believe that reading opens doors to opportunity, imagination, and lifelong learning. That’s why we are thrilled to announce the beginning of an exciting partnership with Awesome Books, a local company dedicated to making books accessible for all. As part of this collaboration, Awesome Books has generously donated 3,710 books to our schools, helping us transform reading spaces and create new opportunities for our pupils. These books have already made a huge impact: Home libraries for our disadvantaged pupils, ensuring every child has books to enjoy at home.

Celebrating One Year with Uplands

The Keys Academy Trust is proud to mark the first anniversary of Uplands Primary School and Nursery since they officially joined the Trust on 1 June 2024. North Hub Equestrian Event

Pupils from five schools within The Keys Academy Trust had the fantastic opportunity to visit Lands End Equestrian Centre on Thursday 20 March, where their love of learning came to life in a hands-on exciting way. During their visit, pupils enjoyed grooming horses, washing their tales and exploring the stables. They also got the chance to meet a variety of other animals including chickens, goats and even peacocks! The experience was both educational and enriching, allowing them to learn more about animal care.
