The Keys Academy Trust is delighted to announce the appointment of Mrs Jessica Lewis as the new Headteacher at Earley St Peter’s C of E Primary School from 1 September 2026.

Mrs Lewis brings a wealth of educational experience and a proven track record of school leadership, having dedicated almost 30 years to education and more than 18 years to senior leadership roles. For the past decade, she has served as Headteacher of Stephen Freeman Primary School in Oxfordshire, where she has successfully led significant school improvement, strategic growth and academisation.

Throughout her career, Mrs Lewis has demonstrated a strong commitment to ensuring every child receives the highest quality education within a nurturing and inclusive environment. Her leadership is rooted in a clear moral purpose, placing children's wellbeing, achievement and personal development at the heart of every decision.

During her tenure at Stephen Freeman Primary School, Mrs Lewis led the school's development from a smaller provision to a fully subscribed two-form entry primary school. She successfully guided the school through two Ofsted inspections, oversaw a complex academisation process and steered the school community through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic with clarity, compassion and resilience.

Mrs Lewis has extensive experience in safeguarding, curriculum leadership, staff development and strategic financial management. As a long-standing Designated Safeguarding Lead, she has championed inclusive practices and established strong partnerships with families, external agencies and local communities to support children and families effectively.

Speaking about her appointment, Mrs Lewis said:"I am thrilled to be joining Earley St Peter’s CE Primary School as Headteacher. The school has a strong sense of community, a commitment to nurturing every child and values that closely align with my own. I look forward to working with staff, pupils, families and the wider community to build on the school’s successes and ensure every child is supported to achieve their full potential. It is a privilege to lead a school where children are at the heart of every decision, and I am excited about the future we will create together."

The Governing Body and The Keys Academy Trust were impressed by Mrs Lewis's extensive leadership experience, her clear strategic vision and her commitment to nurturing a school culture where all children can thrive.

Hester Wooller, CEO, said: "We are delighted to welcome Mrs Lewis to Earley St Peter's. Her passion for education, strong Christian values and proven record of leading school improvement make her an outstanding appointment. We are confident that she will lead our school with dedication, integrity and ambition for all.”
