Foundations for Success Confirmed at St Cecilia’s C of E Primary School
Apr 23 2026
The Keys Academy Trust is proud to share the outcome of St Cecilia’s C of E Primary School’s first Ofsted inspection since opening, which recognises the strong foundations the school has established as part of The Keys Academy Trust.
Inspectors highlighted the calm, purposeful learning environment and the strong sense of belonging experienced by pupils. The school has embedded high expectations for behaviour, attendance and learning. Attendance is consistently above national averages, and pupils settle quickly into school life, supported by clear routines, positive relationships and a nurturing ethos.
As a Trust, we are particularly encouraged that the inspection reflects the strength of the support provided during the school’s early development. From opening, St Cecilia’s has benefitted from close collaboration across the Trust, enabling leaders to respond flexibly to local need, establish effective governance and staff structures, and ensure safeguarding and inclusion are fully embedded. This collective approach has helped create a cohesive school community where pupils feel safe, valued and well supported.
The report recognises effective early years provision, strong outcomes in reading and mathematics, and an inclusive culture that ensures pupils with additional needs, including those who speak English as an additional language, are identified quickly and supported well. Pupils speak positively about their school and demonstrate confidence, respect and pride in their community.
Under new leadership with Mr Lappin as Headteacher, St Cecilia’s is well placed to build on these foundations. Our shared focus is now on further embedding the wider curriculum, while maintaining the high standards and inclusive culture that are already evident.
We are grateful to staff, governors, families and pupils for their continued commitment and partnership. This report provides a strong platform for St Cecilia’s to continue to grow and flourish.
