St Cecilia’s CE Primary Celebrates Outstanding First SIAMS Inspection

St Cecilia’s Church of England Primary School is celebrating the outcome of its very first SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) inspection, which recognises the school as a flourishing community where pupils and adults thrive together.

The report praises the school for “living up to its foundation as a Church school” and highlights the deeply embedded Christian vision of encouraging one another and building each other up. The inspector noted that this vision is not only clearly understood across the school but is lived out daily through relationships, curriculum experiences, and the school’s warm, inclusive culture.

The SIAMS inspector commended several notable strengths, including:

  • Strong, visionary leadership
Leaders at every level place the Christian vision at the heart of the school’s development. Their thoughtful monitoring and reflective practice ensure pupils and adults alike are supported to flourish.
  • A rich and inclusive curriculum
The curriculum is carefully designed to meet the needs of the school’s diverse community. Subjects are enriched with global perspectives, thoughtful literature choices, and strong language development, helping pupils develop empathy, understanding, and curiosity.
  • Joyful and meaningful collective worship
Worship plays a central role in school life, offering pupils and staff opportunities for reflection, participation, and spiritual growth. Partnerships with local churches and wider faith communities enhance pupils’ understanding and respect for diversity.
  • A nurturing, respectful school culture
The report highlights harmonious relationships, excellent support for pupils with SEND and EAL, and a calm, caring environment rooted in kindness, forgiveness, and mutual respect.
  • High-quality Religious Education
RE is described as well‑balanced, diverse, and accurately taught, supported by strong subject leadership and effective resources that bring learning to life.

A School Where Everyone Can Flourish

The inspector noted the school’s strong sense of justice, responsibility, and care for others. Pupils engage with ethical questions, demonstrate respect for different worldviews, and are encouraged to make a positive impact on their community.

Staff wellbeing and professional growth were also highlighted, with the report recognising the support offered through The Keys Academy Trust and the school’s commitment to helping every adult flourish.

A Milestone Worth Celebrating

This first SIAMS inspection marks a significant moment in St Cecilia’s journey. The overwhelmingly positive findings reflect the dedication of the entire staff team, the support of governors and trustees, and the joyful, inclusive spirit that defines the school.

The Keys Academy Trust would like to thank St Cecilia’s pupils, families, staff, governors, and community partners for their ongoing support. Together, we continue to build a school where every individual is valued, celebrated, and encouraged to shine.
